Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 2026

This policy explains what cookies and local storage we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. SleepScorePro uses Google Consent Mode v2 — no analytics or advertising cookies fire until you explicitly consent.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites you visit. We also use localStorage — browser-based storage that works similarly but never expires automatically and is never transmitted to our servers. All sleep tool data (your scores, results) is stored in localStorage only — it never leaves your device.

2. Google Consent Mode v2

SleepScorePro implements Google Consent Mode v2. This means all five consent signal types default to denied or limited until you make an explicit choice via our cookie banner. No analytics or advertising cookies are set before you consent.

Consent SignalDefaultGranted WhenControls
analytics_storageDeniedYou accept analytics cookiesControls Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*)

3. Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They cannot be disabled.

4. Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)

IP addresses are anonymised for analytics. We do not use analytics data to identify individual users. Google Analytics data processing is governed by Google's data processing terms. See Google Privacy Policy.

5. Advertising Cookies (Consent Required)

We use Google AdSense to display relevant advertising. These cookies are only set if you consent to marketing cookies. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

6. Local Storage (Never Transmitted to Our Servers)

The following localStorage keys are used to store your tool results on your own device only. This data is never sent to our servers, never shared with third parties, and you can clear it at any time via your browser's developer tools or site settings.

7. How to Manage and Opt Out

You have several options to manage cookies and local storage:

Cookie Preferences Banner

Click "Manage Cookie Preferences" at the top of this page to reopen the consent banner and change your choices.

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via Settings > Privacy & Security. See your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.

Google Analytics Opt-Out

Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits across all websites.

Google Advertising Opt-Out

Manage your Google advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com.

Clear Local Storage

Open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to Application > Local Storage > your site, and delete any or all keys. All sleep tool data will be cleared from your device.

8. Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Currently, there is no industry-wide standard for responding to DNT signals. However, our default behaviour — denying analytics and advertising until you explicitly consent — already provides privacy protection equivalent to or stronger than DNT.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. When we make significant changes, we will bump the consent version, causing the consent banner to reappear for all users. The date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
